The Battle of Arsuf

Eight hundred and seventy years ago today the Muslim army of Saladin attacked the Crusaders and Richard the Lion Hearted at the Battle of Arsuf. Though Richard successfully counterattacked the Muslims that evening, his march to Jerusalem was delayed because of the battle. You can read more about the battle here.
